All things Shopify and commerce
I go in my lulu direct store and click order a sample and it then ATTEMPTS to take me to my shopify store/orders, however, shopify blocks this attempt. It shows a "500 there's a problem loading this page" error message. I have tried this from different devices and get the same error. Any resolve? Thanks
Hi @sj91
Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Check Lulu Direct App Installation
Reauthorize the App
Clear Shopify Cache & Cookies
Try a Different Browser
Look for Conflicting Apps or Scripts
Let me know if these work for you, happy to share additional support information on this.

Hello @sj91,
That 500 error is happening because Shopify doesn’t expose a public “/orders” page on the storefront—it’s reserved for the admin interface. When Lulu Direct tries to send you there, Shopify simply blocks it. What you’ll need to do is change the redirect URL in your Lulu Direct settings so it points to one of these instead:
1. A product or cart URL
Send them to the sample product’s page (e.g. /products/sample-item) or directly add the sample to cart and hit /checkout. That way customers go straight into the normal checkout flow and end up on the standard order status page after payment.
2. Your customer account orders page
If you really want them to see their order list, enable customer accounts in Settings → Customer accounts, then redirect to /account/login or, once they’re logged in, /account/orders.
You’ll likely find the redirect setting in your Lulu Direct dashboard under “Order a Sample” or webhook settings—swap out /orders for one of the URLs above, save, and test again. That should eliminate the 500 error.
