Mails regarding unlicensed shopify themes

Help! Unlicensed Theme Warnings

Hi Shopify Support Team,

I hope you can help me with this. I've been getting some emails from a Shopify partner saying I'm using an unlicensed theme, but I'm pretty sure I'm using a theme I got from Shopify.

I'm a bit freaked out because I don't know if these emails are legit or some kind of scam.

I'm worried and could really use your help to sort this out.

No I actually developed this website my own watching YouTube videos.

Really sorry to hear that this has happened to you, may I ask if you developed this site on your own and added the theme or was it done by a 3rd party developer?

Hello! Thanks for messaging..Actually I developed this site alone and I
didn't used any third party theme! I only used the theme which is provided
by shopify.

That's odd, did you by any chance copy & paste any liquid code or any code for that matter from a paid theme to yours when you were creating it/modifying it?

This is really wierd! I didn't posted any codes! Those mails came from "
Shopifypartner227@gmail.com" I actually don't know if I can contact from
anywhere with Shopify directly regarding this matter

Do not worry @Rai404. This is definitely not an email from Shopify. Relax and ignore these emails which does not have the `shopify` domain

Hi @Rai404 

In that case, then this is definitely a scam as Shopify does not write from a gmail account. There is no need to worry 🙂
