All things Shopify and commerce
Hello!
I am working in Pipeline 7.4.2 and need some help!
I sell different products divided into categories and they all lay under "products" in the menu. I want to add pictures and text about the products, buy whenI do that now, everything changes, so the info about product A is visible on product page B, C and D. How do I fix that?
I have tried to make a new template and when make a page for each products, but the new template won't show in the page drop down meny. Now all the pages are linked to the default template. I have also tried som coding (I have programmed a different website before) but maybe I did something wrong, I can't make that work anyways. Do anyone have a solution? A tip on a tutorial to watch?
Hi @klaraaagustafss product alternate templates would only show either in the products admin itself for the live theme, or for any theme in the visual theme editor when selecting product templates that are part of that theme, product templates do NOT show as page alternate templates.
Beyond this you'd need to drastically improve the description of what your doing including explanatory screenshots and or linking to the theme docs.

Hey!
You can use product templates as what PaulNewton commented. An alternative would be to use metafields in order to keep 1 template but different kinds of content showing, check out this video when you can: Shopify 2.0 Metafields Tutorial (Real Store Examples) - YouTube
Feel free to drop questions if you have any 🙂👍
Can you reupload the screenshots? I just see the file names here.
I'm not sure why but creating new templates should be displayed to you when editing your theme. You can find it here:
Then in order to assign the product into the new template, you can assign it in the product admin:
Feel free to continue the conversation, I'll do my best to help you out.
Picture 1, the look of product page candy
Picture 2, the look of INSPIRATION, which i would like to be all empty so
that I could start from scratch
Picture 3, I have even created a new page, "inspiration-ny"
Picture 4, I want connect the page "inspiration-ny" to the inspiration
page what I have in the navbar, but"inspiration-ny" only appears when
customizing the theme, not when editing the menu.
