Managing Website Where Products Stay For a While - How to manage/limit Redirects ?

So we have a vape store website where products stay for 3-4 months and then are discontinued as new arrivals are always coming. Products are always changing and new models and products are being launched .Now if we draft that product we get a 404 and if we mark it as out of stock then still it's useless. If we delete it again we get a 404. It has been so difficult to add redirects, fed up of it already. Therefore,

Whats the best and legit method of handling such situations in Shopify ? 

one example of this is disposable vapes. They keep coming and getting out of fashion we have to remove them.

Did you try to add by products by editing existing product? So previous URLs will be redirected to new ones and may solve this issue.

thats not useful as the new products might have new names , new brands etc. so url would change and in the end 301 will result in large number of redirects which i want to avoid

Google will reindex and those product URLs do not exist will no longer available on your  search console results
