May fail to pay Shopify bill - what to do?

Long story short: My card on file is inactive due to a separate issue and I will not receive a new one for some time (I am in the middle of a fraud investigation, i.e. someone may be stealing money from my account). Thus, there is a high probability that I may not be able to cover my upcoming bill. What can I do to avoid losing access to my store etc.? I have the funds but I'm afraid my current payment method won't be valid. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, @CC02.

Thanks for posting your question to the Shopify Community.

I can definitely understand your concern and wanting to ensure you're able to pay your Shopify bill. If you're unsure whether the payment method on file may be valid or not, you can try updating your payment method on file to a different card.

To clarify, if you missed paying your Shopify subscription bill or if a payment fails multiple times, then your store is frozen until you settle your bill. Your store doesn't freeze until your bill's due date. Once the store is frozen, then you need to reactivate it to access your account or store information, start selling again, transfer your domain, and so on.
