All things Shopify and commerce
I'm trying to make updates to my site and need to "merge" several products together so that I have one product with Variants. The Merged Products would be the variants of the "new merged product".
I've tried everything I can think of to accomplish this, but can't seem to find a workable solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @All5th,
To help you out, could you share some more info about your products? Tell me about the main product, the ones you want to merge into its variants, and whether these products already have options and variants set up. The more details you can provide, the better I can suggest a solution that fits your situation.
Hi @All5th,
There are several ways you can go about merging your products 🤗.
One option is to export the products from Shopify to a CSV file, manipulate the data in Excel to consolidate them into a single product, and then import the modified file back into your Shopify store.
Another approach is to create a new product, which we'll call "Fusion Grey Wash Set" as your primary product. You can then use the Easify Product Options app to set up size options for this main product. These size options can be linked directly to your existing "Fusion Grey Wash Set 2 oz" and "Fusion Grey Wash Set 4 oz" products. Here's how you can set it up:
You could have just said NO, you dont know of an easy/ quick way to merge 2 products.
Might not be easy but at least they offered something constructive.
My thoughts exactly when scrolling down
Hi All5th
We developed a new app that solves the issue of merging different products into one single product with variants.
I hope it will help you.

So I can check 100 items and merge them with 1 click?
Yes, you're right—merging products with our Merges app involves just a couple of simple steps:
This process ensures you have full control over how your products are merged, allowing you to make any necessary adjustments before finalizing. It’s designed to be intuitive and efficient, helping you merge your products with minimal effort.
Additionally, we are excited to announce that we are currently working on integrating Shopify's new API, which will soon allow the possibility to merge up to 2000 variants into one product.
I was looking at your app. What is a "credit" and how is it used? Do you have a demo of what it looks like from the front end, once products are combined? Why would you want to archive your old products? So they are no longer displayed? We're a manufacturer, so we export our product information for distributors to use. I don't want to lose the "individual" products, completely. Our products have features that differentiate the models within a series: speed, number of channels, etc. I am thinking that having one model, with a picker to choose from a few parameters, would be enough.
Hi Uni-Trend,
Great questions! Let me break down each one for you:
1. How do monthly merge credits work?
Each month, your subscription provides a specific number of merge credits. A credit is used for each product variant merged. For example, if you merge Product A (which has 3 variants) with Product B (as a new variant), you’ll use 4 credits in total. This system allows for flexibility, letting you manage your merges according to your plan’s allowance.
2. Why would you want to archive your old products?
Archiving old products can help maintain accurate inventory counts. When you have the same product listed multiple times, each instance has its own unique inventory count, which can lead to discrepancies. By archiving old products after merging them into a single product with variants, you ensure that your stock levels are accurately tracked.
Even after merging, you can still display individual products on a collection page with some theme modifications.
3. Front-end demo and individual product visibility:
We don’t have a frontend demo available, as this always depends on the theme used. However, we offer free trial credits so you can try the app and see how it works for your specific needs. For manufacturers like yourself who need to export product information for distributors, you won’t lose the individual product data. The merged product will include all the variants, allowing you to present a single model with options to choose different parameters, like speed or number of channels.
If you have any further questions or need more detailed information, feel free to reach out.
Best regards
Can this work with drop shipping? I have a vendor that has multiple designs on a product (which is great). However, the problem is that although the size is the same for each design option, the buyer would have to select a specific named size (which has the same name as the design) to see or select which design they want to buy. For example, the product has multiple designs, and for each and every design, there is a separate specific size that has to be selected to see what the design looks like. It would make more sense to have one size available for all designs since the sizes are all the same.
So is this how you could take multiple framed art prints, combine them as one product to buy (a DFY gallery wall), and create the appropriate mockup. Then when purchased, it automatically sends the entire number of items over to say TeeLaunch, to be produced and shipped?
Hi Rina
For this workflow, a bundle app might be more suitable. Bundle apps allow you to group different products together and sell them as a set, making it easier to manage and fulfill orders.
Product merging, on the other hand, is more suited for combining multiple variants of the same product into one. This is useful when you have the same product listed separately and want to consolidate them into a single product listing with multiple variant
Thank you!
Can you please let me know if the bundle apps can be used with drop shipping? And please provide more information about the bundle apps is this part of Shopify?
