When setting up Google Merchant thru Shopify I'm getting the error:
Solved! Go to the solution
This is an accepted solution.
Go to GMC > products > feeds > click on your feed > settings > uncheck the country in the settings.
Then in the gear icon > shipping > remove korea from the shipping list
Then reprocess the feed, following the steps here: https://feedarmy.com/kb/how-to-reprocess-content-api-in-google-merchant-center/
Every country has there own laws, if you want to advertise in Korea, you must be a legally registered Korean business.
If you are not, simply ignore and accept you can not target Korea.
So is there a way not to advertise there but sell there?
Thanks.
I don't know, I only know the info regarding advertising in Google Merchant Center, that you need a business license.
Hi there, @iAreku!
Thank you for your post. @EmmanuelFlossie provided some great context regarding Google's merchant requirements for Korea. I also wanted to share this support document from Google. It explains that in order to show Shopping ads in South Korea, you’ll need to have a valid Business Registration Number (BRN), and the prices on your website landing pages will need to appear in South Korean Won. I recommend contacting Google directly if you have more questions about this policy.
Since you're interested in selling globally, I wanted to share our Ultimate Guide to International Ecommerce. It has plenty of helpful tips and steps you can take to market your store worldwide and make it easy for international customers to shop.
Please let me know if you have any other questions!

I am already selling globally, no issues with that. Question is if this single Korean ordeal stops the WHOLE Google Merchant thing from working with Shopify... aka because of this requirement GM wont work GLOBALLY even if I sell GLOBALLY already.
Simply answer, no, there are no issues. Simply do not target Korea.
You can check if other countries are approved by going to Google Merchant Center > Products > Diagnostics > change the filter to specific countries you want to view, or learn more about.
OK thanks!
So how I dissable Google Merchant ONLY FOR S.KOREA?
Ty!
Many thanks!
I did this: "Go to GMC > products > feeds > click on your feed > settings > uncheck the country in the settings." by clicking the small pencil icon.
Is that so or is this step "Then in the gear icon > shipping > remove korea from the shipping list" something I haven't found where?
If you can not find your shipping settings, try this link: https://merchants.google.com/mc/shipping/services
Thanks! South Korea is missing already in that list so I guess that's all about it 😉
Thanks again!
Hmmm followed all steps of the reprocess api content feed guide but when I click on the FETCH NOW last step, I get a file not found :????
How so If it's getting it from GSheets?!?
Google has a bug with sheets, make sure to set the sharing to anyone with a link
Will try ty!
I'm Korean and have Korean Business Registration Number. pls let me know how to enter the number in Shopify Admin Page.
In addition, I've entered the Registration Number in https://merchants.google.com/.
however, the error message is still appeard.
Hi. I added 10x zeros ("0000000000") in the Korean Business Number field which solved most of this for me. Once done I thought the issue was fully cleared with Google Merchant Center (GMC) but when I looked at the Products section in GMC I could still see all my products needed attention due to missing Korean Business Registration Number. I then made a small change to each products description (such as adding a space at end of the product description text) which seemed to refresh the results. All alerts for Korean Business Registration Number have now disappeared. I now only have 'Unsupported currency' & 'Missing or incorrect shipping costs' to fix but that's a different topic.
I recommend contacting Google to remove the number all together. Not adding random values as this may create issues you are not fully aware of.
