Modifying / removing customer's tag

Modifying / removing customer's tag

Hello everybody!

I'm trying to use Shopify Email and I would like to segment using customer's tag.
In the beginning I've added some random tags, jus to see how it could work (I've also put misspelled words), but now I'm able to cancel / modify the existing tags.
I also tried to remove a specific tag from every customers, thinking that it could disappear but the tag is still there, in the messy tag list: that  it's annoying and I have to remember which tag is ok and which is not.

Has anyone figured it out before and could help me?

Thanks,

Marco

Hey, @MarcoInuit

Happy to help. There is a way to edit your customers tags out in bulk through your Shopify admin. By going into Admin > Customers > Select all customers > Remove Tags > Then select the tags you want to remove:

Hi @Dirk,

thank's for your reply.
I've already removed all the unwanted/miswritten tags from customers.
What I would like is completely delete those tags from any tag list: every time I try to add a tag to a customer I have to see all the tags in the menu:this is confusing.
Please see the image attached

Is there a way to completely delete the unwanted tags or change them at least?

Best,
Marco

Gotcha, this is the method for deleting unwanted tags from customers. If you are still seeing them one of three things is happening.

1. Let's say you have 100 customers, and when you used the select all customers button, it grabs just 25 customers (from the first page). Therefore there is potentially 3 additional pages where you need to scrub the tags from to ensure all have been removed of every customer.

2. There is a cache issue with your device. Simply reset your browsers cookies + cache files and see if that resolves it.

3. If nothing else, you will want your store's cache to be cleared in our system. This would require you to get in touch with support in order for one of our advisors to clear the front-end cache of your store. Please visit our help center and log in to your account to create a support request.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Hi - I've followed all steps including having the help desk clear the cache on your end.  Also tried in incognito mode.  No luck.  Any other suggestions?

Hi, I am having the same issue.

I need to delete one tag from the customer list.

I have already removed the tag also clear the cache both from the browser and also from the shopify front-end cache.

Still the tag is showing in the available options.
