All things Shopify and commerce
Hi all, I sell product X which can be compatible with up to 50 different machines/models. Instead of listing the compatibility of product X within the description I want to make individual listings for each model.
EG
Product X for Machine 45
Product X for Machine 65
Product X for Machine 78
Product X for Machine 89
Simple enough, but I want the stock levels for all the listings to be synced so if some buys 1 x "Product X for Machine 45" the stock on all listings will decrease by 1.
Is there a simple(ish) way to do this?
Thanks
Hi @procouplings,
Could you tell me more about your products or share your website? I'd like to get a better sense of your store before I provide a solution 😊.
Apologies for the delay. The website is still in construction so I can't link it here.
See the below example
SKU-1 Plain Pint Glass (100 units in stock)
Product 1 - Pint Glass for Heineken
Product 2 - Pint Glass for Guinness
Product 3 - Pint Glass for Budweiser
To start, I want each product to have a stock quantity of 100 (taken from SKU-1). If someone orders 10 Guinness Pint Glasses, the stock should be taken from SKU-1 so all 3 products now have a stock value of 90.
I hope that's clearer, do you have a solution?
Thanks
Hi @procouplings,
To address your query, consider exploring Shopify apps that offer connected inventory functionalities. These apps empower you to create product or variant groups with shared inventory. This means that when a customer purchases 1 item within the group, the inventory of all associated products is automatically adjusted accordingly.
