multiple POD options for countries

Hi Everyone!

I am wondering if it is possible to have 2 different POD options for the same product across 2 different countries?  For example, here in Au I print with a local print company, and want to expand the store into the US and use a local US POD company, (then into the UK & Asia) - is there a way to set the same products up with a different POD output for each country where the buyer is located?

Hi @HamiltonSteve

I see what you’re trying to do, and it makes total sense—you want to use different Print-on-Demand (POD) suppliers for different countries so customers get their orders fulfilled locally. The good news is, yes, it’s absolutely possible! Here’s how you can set it up in Shopify:

1. Use Shopify Markets for Country-Based Product Routing

  • Shopify Markets lets you create different product catalogs for different regions.
  • You can list the same product but link it to a different supplier for each country.
  • Go to Settings > Markets, set up your target countries, and assign specific products to each market.

2. Set Up Multiple POD Suppliers Using Apps

  • If you’re using Printify, you can assign different print providers for different locations.
  • Other POD apps like Printful, Gelato, or AOP+ also support region-based fulfillment.
  • Just make sure each product variant is linked to the correct supplier based on the country.

3. Automate Fulfillment by Location with a Custom Solution

  • If your POD apps don’t automatically route orders by region, use Shopify Flow (if you're on Shopify Plus) or an automation app like Order Desk to split orders based on customer location.
  • Alternatively, a developer could set up a custom fulfillment rule with Shopify's API.

4. Consider Duplicate Product Listings (if needed)

  • If your POD apps don’t let you assign different suppliers per country, you might need to create separate product listings for each region and hide them from customers outside the target market.
  • Use an app like EasyLocation to show/hide products based on the buyer’s location.

This setup ensures customers in AU, the US, the UK, and Asia all get local fulfillment, reducing shipping costs and delivery times. If you need any other assistance, I am willing to help.

Best regards,
Daisy.
