All things Shopify and commerce
Hello, I have a question. I have multiple variants of a product, and I'd like to know if it's better to make each variant its own product page or one product page with two variants of it. I'm asking this because of duplicate content. I also have a lot of the same keywords on the collection page because all the product titles start with the same keyword. Thanks!
Hi @palindrom. Welcome to the Shopify Community.
I think it would come down to how many products you have and how many variants there are. Let's say you have 5 products and they all have 2 variants, I think it would be good to make each variant it's own product page since you specialize in these specific products. You can show off all your products rather quickly. However, if you have 30+ products, I think it would make more sense for you to have 1 main product page and the variants listed there. You don't want your product page real estate to be taken up of the same product in different colours or other slight differences. People have very low attention spans and you want to help your customers see the product they want as quickly as possible.
With that said, I don't think either option is wrong, they are just different and might work out better for some customers vs others.

Totally see your point here. Thanks! But I'm wondering, what's best for SEO? If I make each variant its own page, will that help with SEO, or is it better to keep them all on one page? Trying to figure out the best way to approach this so to balance user experience and SEO. Thanks again.
Thank you for the additional context. Can you share your website with me so I can take a look and see what would be better? When it comes to SEO, one thing that will have a negative impact on it is duplicate information/products, but if your product variants are different enough it could be good for your SEO. If you're comfortable to share your website please do, if not can you describe the differences between the variants?

Hey Kittana, thanks for the prompt replies. My website is still in the developing phase though, I'm uploading products rn. I just wanted to make sure not to make some silly moves and cause damage before I publish the products. Thank you for the detailed answers, I now have a general idea how to approach this. Thanks a bunch!
