All things Shopify and commerce
I was excited to see the new "Markets" feature that allows me to target different markets with different currencies under one store. But guess what? It's ONLY available for Shopify Payments. Merchants like myself, who are not eligible for Shopify Payments, have to create different stores to allow customers to pay in their own currency.
In addition to that, we have to pay additional fees for not using Shopify Payments, which isn't even an option for me because my business is based in the UAE, and I'm not eligible for it.
My online store has a lot of customers in the US and Saudi Arabia, in addition to my local customers in the UAE. While the store currency is in AED, everyone complains that they can't pay in their own currency.
I need to know if there's a way to get Shopify Payments applied to my store. I do have a US LLC and EIN number, but when I contacted the Shopify Payments support team, they informed me that I need to have at least a warehouse/store and a representative in the US, which I don't have.
I appreciate your help!
Hello, I sell women's clothing in UAE. Let me know how did your friend get it? I can't share my URL here.
Yes, you need to establish an operational presence, which means either leasing or owning a warehouse in the name of your US LLC. Shopify Payments needs to verify your presence to reduce its risk.
