My customer is having trouble logging in with a new email address

One of my customers contacted me about changing her email address associated with our store. Seems as though she tried to change it but didn't think that she did, so she wanted me to change it.


When I looked up her profile, it does now have the new email address, however, she can only sign into her account using the old email + password combination. 


How do I get her fully changed over to a new email?
