All things Shopify and commerce
hi
this is really frustrating but my discount code isn’t showing at checkout and there is no way for customers to apply it... if only says “gift card” which doesn’t work for discounts
please help - or who can i contact you fix this?
thank you

This is an accepted solution.
OK have a look at it.
What I noticed is that if you need custom Text input then I'm afraid you have to stick to the way you have the variants setup right now. Ideally you should use the variants of Shopify but that means you have to keep inventory in Sync between Gift Box Included or not. To do it properly without apps would probably not be worth it for you I reckon. Let me know what you think!
Hi There!
Are you using Shopify's default checkout or an app that creates a different checkout?
That explains it!
Checkout apps create checkouts out of Draft Orders where Discount Codes cannot be applied. No solution for that unfortunately~
okay thank you! so if the app creates an extra charge the discount option will dissapear?
is there a way i can have more than 1 variant on my product page?
as i want to give customers the ability the choose the colour of charm
and also if they want to add a gift box or not
thanks!
You can most certainly create variants for products and you can add another option for Gift Box or not.
Let me know if you need help setting this up, how many products do you have?
thank you, i’m trying to do it,
is this the only way to do it? i have multiple listings to add this option to - do i have to do it this way to all of them?
thank you!
You could have used Shopify's built-in tools instead of this, it would be much neater.
What is your store's URL? I can update one product for you so you can see how it's done. If there are a lot of products to do we can assist on that.
Do let me know, Cheers!
Collaborator Access sent!
thank you!
Resent you the request as I had missed to tick App permissions, thanks!
The product you told me about is out of stock though, can I test something that's not?
yes !
erm the “baby turtle necklace”
thank you

ah okay!
that’s okay then, thank you so much for your help,
appreciated it 🙂
Hi there,
I am having a similar issue. My discount code is not showing up on any of the check out pages. I have ensured that my discount code is active and enabled to the correct product variant. Still no place for my customers to enter the discount code.
Can you please give me insight into this issue?
Thanks,
Anita
I am having the same problem. All of my products have variants of different prices so I need to use a third party app. This means there is no way for me to offer a discount code for my products???
i found the problem. Go to edit code and look for (cart-template.liquid) once you find it look for this code (my theme is debut so might be different for you) <ul class="order-discount order-discount--list order-discount--title order-discount--cart{% if item.line_level_discount_allocations == blank %} hide{% endif %}" aria-label="{{ 'customer.order.discount' | t }}" data-cart-item-discount-list>
{%- for discount_allocation in itemDiscounts -%}
<li class="order-discount__item" data-cart-item-discount>
{% include 'icon-saletag' %}
<span data-cart-item-discount-title>
{{- discount_allocation.discount_application.title -}}
</span> (-<span data-cart-item-discount-amount>{{ discount_allocation.amount | money }}</span>)
</li>
{%- endfor -%}
</ul>
put it below the <div data-cart-item-price> under the closed div (</div>)
