I want to set up my payments method by PayPal but on my Payments option seem like it does not have PayPal. How would I fix that?

Hi,

 

First check your country allowed by papal at https://www.paypal.com/en/webapps/mpp/country-worldwide

if yes, please go to your store settings >> payments page, if you don't see it, then contact shopify.

I understand that you wish to set up PayPal, however you are not seeing it in the payment options. I would be happy to help steer you in the right direction here.

 

Can you please confirm if you mean PayPal as a payment method for customers to use on your store, or if you mean using PayPal as a payment method for your Shopify billing?

 

To use PayPal as a payment method on your store checkout, then as @Tuecus has mentioned you just need to head to the Settings > Payments section of your admin and finish the PayPal setup there. Shopify automatically creates a PayPal Express Checkout account using your store email address, but it's a good idea to finish the setup process to ensure full functionality. 

 

If you were asking about using PayPal as a payment method for your Shopify bills, then that depends on the location of your store. If you navigate to the Settings > Billing section of your admin and click Add Payment Method you should see a section called 'Payment method type' where you can choose - are you seeing PayPal listed here in this drop down box? 

 

If you are located in the US or India then you currently cannot use PayPal as a billing payment method. If you are located in Canada then you can only use PayPal if your billing currency is set to USD. We have more information here about the payment methods you can use for your Shopify billing.

 

Besides this PayPal setup query - how is the rest of your store setup going? Hi Rick, 

I am encountering the same issue that was discussed here. I have nearly completed setting up my Shopify store, but I am struggling with integrating PayPal as a payment method. My business account with PayPal is associated with the same email I used for Shopify. However, I can't find the option to enable PayPal for customer payments. I am using the same PayPal business to pay for Shopify subscription. But Paypal doesn't appear to be available for my customer. Can you provide any guidance on how to resolve this?

I understand that you are wondering how to use PayPal as a payment method on your Shopify store. I would be happy to provide some information.

 

Can you please confirm where your store is located? The different payment methods that are available for a store to use will vary depending on a few factors such as the store location. I would encourage you to check out this resource here, and input your store region into the text box that says 'type in your country'. That will provide you with a full list of available payment methods that you can use on your specific store.

 

If you see PayPal Express Checkout on that list, then you should be able to use PayPal on your store. You will need to navigate to Settings > Payments and then locate the PayPal section. We have some information here on our help center that explains how to complete the PayPal setup on your store.

 

If PayPal isn't listed when you input your location, and you are not seeing it as an option in your Shopify admin, then it's likely you will need to choose a different payment provider for accepting payments on your store. We have some great information here that explains how to choose and set up a third-party payment provider.

 

Keep in mind, PayPal and other third-party payment gateways are completely external to us, and as such any queries about your account should be directed to their own support team, as they will be in the best position to provide support. If you need more in-depth help with setting up PayPal Express Checkout, then you could also consider hiring a Shopify Partner
