My shop has UNINTENTIONALLY gone LIVE ...

Hi there,

My new store has UNINTENTIONALLY gone LIVE (scary) and it is no way near ready.

I have checked the "Online Store -> Preferences" and the "Restrict access to visitors with password" is checked. So there is no way people should be able to view my store. They should get the "Coming Soon" message. But my site is still live.

I tried unchecking the "Restrict access to visitors with password" check box, saving the setting, then rechecking it and saving again, but still even though "Restrict access to visitors with password" is checked, my online store is live. .. I'm a little nervous as I can see via the analytics that people are accessing it.

I'd greatly appreciate some help 🙂
Matt

What is the link to the store? Have you tried looking at it with an Incognito window, and/or clearing your browser cache? Try it on another device as well.

Cheers.

@HomeBuiltBikes Please follow up below steps.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Preferences.

2. Scroll to the Password protection area, and check Restrict access to visitors with the password.

3. In Password, enter the password that you'll give to the customers who you want to be able to access your online store. Don't use the same password that you use to log into your admin.

4. In Message for your visitors, enter the message that you want to show on the password page. If you don't want to show a message, then leave this field blank.

5. Click Save.

My password protection isn't working either, using the Ride theme.  I have to switch themes to hide it.
