Need help: How to correctly set up a Meta Pixel on my website?

I tried setting up meta pixel and i am not confident i did the right thing. I  do not have a developer. It may also be because my website isn't live yet. My mistake may be that i created a meta pixel in facebook and when doing the setup in shopify, i clicked on create new pixel instead of adding an existing one. I am currently not able to change in in the shopify settings. How can i rectify this? Or how do i know where i went wrong?
