Was told by customer support that I needed my account manually verified to use Shopify Payments, which is okay. I've checked the requirements and have all the necessary documents. However, I was given a ticket number (49503528) and told to just... wait until someone gets in touch with me...? No ETA provided and the estimated reply time is "as soon as possible," which I take can mean a day... a week.. a month.
As someone who pays a monthly subscription for this platform, I find this borderline absurd.
I am already verified on Stripe and have never had to jump through these bizarre hoops. The fact that Shopify is a platform where users build their ecommerce stores through makes this level of service is even worse.
There are about a hundred different companies that use KYC. Shopify can't do the same?

Based on experience, Shopify payments issues will take some time to be resolved due to their high volume of queue. Though it is not ideal, the best course of action for this kind of issue is to keep an open communication with Shopify support team as, they are the only one that has a better view of Shopify accounts status. It would be best to follow up via live chat than through the open ticket to avoid moving the ticket further to the queue.
