@Kossatelier, Do you mean that when you click on the blog, it navigates to this link: https://kossatelier.com/blogs/news/whats-the-difference-between-suit-and-tuxedo?

Hi there, @Kossatelier! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community Forums today with your question around blog posts and their URL structure. My name is Imogen. It's good to meet you!

To set some expectations for you, it's not possible to change or customize URL structures within Shopify. This is because the structures used by default help optimize your pages from an SEO perspective. The reason you're seeing 'news' in that URL is because you likely created this post as part of a larger blog that you titled 'news'. I can't access your store here to confirm that, but this is how this functionality works when testing flows in my own store. In order to remove 'news', you'll have to create a new 'blog' that uses a different title to replace 'news' with something more appropriate for blog posts you're creating. I'll outline the steps you'll want to follow beflow:

  • Login to your Shopify Admin
  • Select 'Online Store > Blog Posts'
  • This will show you all of the blog posts you have created. If you want to create a new blog post, select 'add blog post' in the rop right. If you want to create a new blog with a more appropriate title to add your blog posts to, select 'manage blogs'.

If selecting 'manage blogs':

  • You will see a screen that shows the blogs that are made where you can add posts. 'News' will be one such blog for you. If you don't have any additional blogs created besides 'News', then your blog posts will be added to the 'News' blog. As such, you'll want to create a blog with a different title to add your posts to in order to replace 'news' from the URL structure of a blog post with something more appropriate. Click 'Add blog'.
  • On this page, you can create a new blog. In the title box, enter in the name you want for this blog (if you're writing about tuxedos and suits, maybe title this blog 'attire' or 'clothing tips' for example). Once you've titled your blog. Hit 'Save'.
  • From here, you can now add blog posts you create to either the 'news' blog, or the new blog you've just created.

If creating a new blog post:

  • Refer to the first 3 steps I outlined
  • On the page that loads, select 'Add blog post'.
  • On this page, you will be able to create your blog post. After you've built your post, you need to assign it to a blog so it can be housed there. Under the 'organization' box on the right side of the screen, you will see a 'blog' box. Click this box. All of the created blogs you have will be listed, included your newly created one. Assign the blog post to your desired blog.
  • Once done, the URL structure of the blog will be shown in green text on that same page in the 'Search Engine Listing Preview' box. I've attached a screenshot below to better show this

Following the outlined steps will allow you to replace the 'news' you outlined in your post with the title of the blog you've added this blog post to. As you can't remove the word entirely (the 'word' shown is the title of the blog the post is added to and it's important for SEO), you will want to make sure the title of the blog you add the post to matches the nature of the blog post.

I hope you found this reply helpful, @Kossatelier! Let me know if you have any questions about what I've outlined!
