All things Shopify and commerce
Is there an option to go back to the previous admin page layout, the one with right side information panes? The previous version was easier to get a "quick glance" of the business.
I know it's a long shot, but any chance someone from @Shopify can comment on this thread? It's had way more activity than any other topic I've even seen in the community.
doubt they care honestly. they are too busy patting themselves on the back for this 'design upgrade' (sarcasm).
The uselessness of the new admin page is pretty glaringly obvious when you see it next to the old MUCH MORE HELPFUL one.
The good old days, when the admin landing page was actually usable!
Come on Shopify, please add the old Admin layout as an option!
Some things are way better left untouched!
Adding another comment to get the info we had before back on the admin home page. I couldn't care less about the new UI, but the loss of info on the home pages sucks and now causes a lot more time to get basic info we relied on.
the fact that you even have to hit refresh to get the tiny amount of data they left us to update is just extra proof of how stupid it is! yet another extra step
I've never seen such a big downgrade as the new admin page - this update that strips away so much useful information and replaces it with nothing. Not just nothing of value, but nothing at all.
And it's hideous and hard to read as well - the reduced font size, aggressive black framing, hard-to-read black buttons - all of it is truly awful. I can't believe a single person at Shopify would ever let this design disaster go live.
Also, why strip the free shipping dropdown option from the order screen? It was extremely helpful for a lot of people and inconvenienced nobody who didn't use it. Now it's just another entry point to introduce typos and errors.
I've already contacted support directly with feedback and encourage everyone here to do the same.
They don't care - but I strongly second this. The new Admin page is rubbish, useless in every way shape or form, and all the real info that was displayed? Now a hunt and peck mission.
What's wrong with you Shopify? How can you not test these features that we pay for, every single one of us uses that admin page (well, the old one - none of us will be using the new page...nothing there but nonsensical squiggles)
Also - while I'm at it - where the hell is our vacation setting? That every other platform has?
After about a half a dozen live support chat requests to be reverted back to the old admin home page, I came into the office this morning to find that i got reverted BACK!!! (for one of my clients at least) We're on Shopify Plus, so I'm not sure if they'll allow non-plus stores to be reverted, but it's worth asking. Live chat support was well aware of this issue and I was able to get "on a list" of people who need to be reverted back, but they couldn't get me a timeline. This morning, all my info is back, just like it used to be! Although, they did tell me if they did revert me, it'll be "temporary, while the work on updating the new admin home page and analytics dashboar).
So hop on that live chat, explain to them how this new admin home page is actually costing you money by having to spend time running daily individual reports for things like: Online Store Total Product Sales (after discount, before returns, tax and shipping), top products (by sales channel), ability to view and compare custom dates, etc... Good luck!
I asked for an update on this post. Please comment back to this 'blair' person if you all can. They need to know we won't just get over it.

I couldn't agree more. The dashboard USED to be a place where I could get an overview of my business at a glance, now, I don't even look at it - nothing to see on the page, it's a lot of clicks for not very clear information - which used to be presented beautifully on the side pane.
Shopify - please give us the option to roll back - I have not heard ONE store owner that likes the new page...
@johnronaldo66 @SuzChalan agree, it is absolutely terrible. I need to be able to see my 'today' and 'this month' all at a glance every day. Can no longer see those things together. I don't give a crap how I'm doing right this minute compared to yesterday at the same exact minute. The percentage to the minute is the dumbest feature ever.
