New Admin page - option to go back to old look

Is there an option to go back to the previous admin page layout, the one with right side information panes? The previous version was easier to get a "quick glance" of the business.

Exactly, the old one was way better. Now, it's all black and white and the buttons are all smaller and even the design have change

Agreed, they keep changing the design without giving us the option to keep the previous version and it's really frustrating. I'm not a fan of this new layout/color scheme at all.

no, they constantly do this crap to 'make our lives better' when in fact it makes it 10x harder. and they never actually listen or make changes when we ask. like the terrible fixes from about 6 months ago when they removed the search bars from 'orders' and 'products'.... something I use tons of times a day... because why wouldn't I want to have to do an extra step every time. and that HORRID map of hexagons that is absolutely useless.

It's beyond ridiculous. I'm convinced they don't actually test these features on people who use Shopify daily as a user... even if they claim to have a testing team.

Couldn't agree more! I care more about sales than traffic, so I prefer that as the default graph on the admin page. I prefer the bar graph to the filtered line graph. I can't see any information on Shopify Capital. I can't see past payouts or the current balance, just the next payout amount. This is absolutely a downgrade in quality and usability compared to the old version. For anyone at Shopify, was any of this run by current users to ask for feedback before implementing the changes? Five complaints in 20 minutes on the day of rollout should be a sign that this isn't the customer experience users want.

100% agree! I would be more than happy to partake in any surveys or chats for feedback on usability. I'm 5 1/2 years in with Shopify and use the admin page multiple times a day, 7 days a week. This new layout is such a downgrade.

Surprise! Shopify changed the dashboard without letting us know. They did not change it, they downgraded the dashboard.  I do not like it please put back the old one. I have some vision problems and now the print is to small

If you go to google chrome settings you can make the print bigger so you can read shopify dashboard and your orders.

Personally, I'm not having any issues reading orders. For me, the issue is that there simply isn't the information there that there used to be.

Exactly. I liked seeing my daily sales right in front on the home page and being able to set the side bar for monthly sales totals.

Yes! The font is so much smaller on every page. It makes it hard to read and a little longer to fulfill orders having to check closer on the item name and image.

Agreed, when I first saw the new layout I instinctively checked the browser text size to see if it had accidentally been lowered.  It's way too small on a standard 13" macbook screen.

I agree, this new version is way too over-simplified. On the previous version I could see everything I needed to know at a quick glance, now I need to click around to find specific details. I'd like the choice available to view it in the old version.

YES! New layout is horrible with the line sales graph; the sales bar graph was much better! You can't see daily sales and monthly sales easily at the same time now without flipping the timeline back and forth. Change it back please!

Yes, because our business is annually cyclical, seeing the previous weeks or months is meaningless, compared to seeing the same period during the previous year. (Gee, we sold less ice cream during Jan. - Mar. than we did Apr. - Jun... huh!)

I also agree! I would love the choice to go back to the prior admin layout. The information I used on a daily basis is now very difficult to see whereas it was simple before. The bar graph visual was far more useful than the lines that have replaced them.

I'm glad I found this, as I could not find anywhere else on the net that addressed this questionable change. (I thought I'd accidentally hit some button that made the Admin page look over-simplified) Please offer the option to go back to the old layout of information, and in the future, gather some user feedback in some beta form first, rather than springing it on us!

<sarcasm>Ahhh, I read the description of the Admin page changes:

"We redesigned the admin and now, through a refreshed visual design and single-column layout for the home page, everything feels more streamlined, focused, and functional. Focus on everything that matters without distraction."

... that puts me at ease, I suppose. </sarcasm>

I don't generally like when they tell me how I'm to "feel" after such an update.

My original statements stand -- they should test these things out first, and if they actually did that, then all of us complaining here must be in the minority (or have not given it enough time to sink in).

Indeed. This does not "feel more streamlined." It feels broken. When I first saw the new admin page I kept refreshing the page and even closed the window and reopened it. I thought the page was failing to load properly. In whose world is this an improvement?

I did the same. And then quickly lost all hope after realizing it is just another miserable update that they have forced on us.  They need to include actual small businesses in their testing phases, people who run everything in the store as one person and see all aspects.

The video about the change was very annoying. I felt it was not only patronizing, but it's exactly the opposite of what we want!  We don't want a single -column layout with wasted white space everywhere.  I want all my biz info at a glance.  Not a hunt and search.

Yes! The new layout is awful! It looks like it was designed 15 years ago. It's not intuitive and offers way fewer insights and information than the previous layout.

Yet another TERRIBLE change from Shopify that makes our lives harder.  I swear, do they ever actually consider the people who use it on a day to day basis? I don't know what 'users' they have in their beta program, but they should all be fired.

Same here. Now I can't even see the actual monthly total. It's rounded up. If they're not going to change it back, at least let me see all the digits of my monthly total.

Hey Shopify - New admin page sucks.  Can't see when orders were made during the day.  Funnel (adds to cart, add to checkout) completely gone.  This is going backward, not an improvement.

I agree too - this new admin page is another case of changing something that wasnt broken and making it worse!
