All things Shopify and commerce
Hopefully experienced folks can help me with this issue.
Yesterday I created a new collection in my Shopify store and added a couple of products successfully. I have a connected FB shop that has been up and running for a couple months with no issues.
My new collection has not appeared in the FB shop, although the products that it contains do.
Also, the collection does not appear in my Facebook Catalog Manager alongside other product sets that were auto-generated (i.e. "Store Collection All Products", "Store Collection Beeswax Wraps", etc)
I have checked all the obvious, basic, FAQ stuff that I can think of:
Any advice is appreciated.
Having the same issue, product set is correct in facebook catalogue as well
Me too , any more ideas
Hi all, With help from the Shopify support team mine was sorted.
In the FB business settings make sure the below is not active on the Admin account 'Manage jobs' Publish and manage jobs, view and manage applications and create ads.
That was all it was.
Where did you find this "Manage Jobs" section in the admin settings?
Go to > https://business.facebook.com/settings > Users > People > Pages > Click the drop down arrow > Manage Page
Change to these settings and your products should show up in your Facebook shop catalogue.
You are misunderstanding the question. The products are there in the original poster's data feed. The COLLECTION is not there. Here's is what I have come to understand - there is no way to connect Shopify collections to Facebook SETS. Facebook SETS are created manually, which is really bad. I have 1,000 items in my SALE collection and cannot move that collection into a Facebook SET except one by one.
Does anyone else have a solution???
I have the same issue . no collections whatsoever on Facebook since in moved to the new Facebook channel. it is not realistic to recreate the collections by picking the products one by one in Facebook . totally useless . does someone have a solution ? thanks
Hello I am having the same issue, it used to be automatic with the old Facebook App for Shopify, but it is no longer working with the current one. Only products are syncing not collections. Have reached out to shopify for help but could not get any help there. Anyone found asolution to this problem?
Hi everyone, did you manage to find a solution to this? I'm dealing with the same problem!
Having the same issue - My collections won't sync with facebook, I also want to find an alternative to individually selecting every product to add it to a new set that I manually create in facebook.
We have 2 stores that are virtually identical using the same theme, having the same collections and were created around the same time. One of the stores synced all collections within the commerce sets however, the other store only synced the products.
Has anyone had any luck getting collections to sync?
I second this question/thread! I recently automated my FB catalog within my Shopify and my "collections" (i.e. Mid Century Glassware, Flasks, etc) aren't showing up as "sets" within my FB catalog. I've checked the proper settings/boxes on the Shopify side, so they should have populated, but they're not. Has anyone solved this? I'm tempted to simply create the "sets" within my FB catalog, but when a new products gets automated/added, I'm wondering how that new product will know which "set" to go to? Any feedback would be appreciated!
I also spent a considerable amount of time on this problem. Shopify support was very helpful the second time I contacted them (cheers Brian), but they can't help with everything, as part of this problem is on Facebook's side.
My workaround will be to make sure I have the "Google Product Category" filled out in all our products (it's probably good for us anyway), then use those to automatically create Sets within Facebook (e.g. everything in Apparel > (..) > Hoodies will be made into a Hoodie set). They appear under "Category" on FB's side under numbers that I didn't understand, but I now know are "Google Product Catagory" and it's possible to look them up.
It's definitely good (I can't make a "new" or "sale" category as I have in my shop), but I think I can accept it for now. The only pain is how much time something as basic has cost me. Part of the time I lost was because I couldn't understand that this is actually how it is, that this functionality doesn't exist.
Facebook actually has a good interface for creating Sets based on any information it gets in the table of products. I can see in the data exported to Facebook that there is no information about Categories/Collections or even Tags in the data that Shopify exports to Facebook. So however many things are broken Facebook's side, this seems more like a Shopify issue (to be precise, the Facebook "extension" for Shopify).
Hope this gets resolved soon. If someone from Shopify sees this and would like more information, I'm happy to provide it.
Ditto here. Not only is the Facebook interface terribly confusing (I have my "November featured" set showing twice and showing items not part of the November set), but once again it won't pick up the set qualifier. I use a tag to create a Shopify collection that I feature on my store's homepage and change it every month, and would like to do the same thing on Facebook but all I get is messed up. There doesn't seem to be a way to add the tag to whatever feed Facebook uses to create the feed. Maybe that's the problem. Complication: some items are promoted in more than one month.
Using the Google product category isn't all that useful to me because I promote jewelry by season, not type.
How do you add the google product category? I am having the same issue where my products are showing on Facebook but the COLLECTIONS are not so I’m wondering if this will fix my issue too
I agree. I am not sure what happened but somehow they just magically started appearing in my collections on Facebook after numerous attempts at contacting both Shopify and Facebook support. They both kept sending me to the other saying it was the other ones issue but someone must have done something because as of right now they appear to be in sync. It is very frustrating though that they do not work better together.
