Hi there,

I'm looking for some help with the shopify dawn theme. I've created and customised some new manual collections pages but when i go to products i can't seem to see those new collections pages at all to assign products to these. Which also means i can't connect the correct collection page to the header menu nav.

Hope this makes sense!

Hey @Lewismurch1992 ,

It sounds like you’ve created custom collection pages in the Dawn theme, but they aren’t appearing as options in the Shopify admin when you try to assign products or link them to the menu. Here are some steps to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Confirm Collection Status:

    • Go to Shopify Admin > Products > Collections.
    • Ensure that your new collections are set to active. If they’re set to "Draft," they won’t be visible in the navigation or when assigning products.
  2. Add Products to Manual Collections:

    • Since your collections are manual, you need to add products individually.
    • Go to each product in Shopify Admin > Products.
    • Scroll down to the Collections section and click to assign the product to your newly created collection.
  3. Add Collections to Navigation:

    • Go to Online Store > Navigation.
    • Select the menu you want to update (like the Main Menu or any custom menu).
    • Click Add menu item and type the name of your collection.
    • In the Link field, choose Collections and find the collection in the dropdown.
  4. Check Theme Customizations for Collection Templates:

    • If you've created custom templates for your collections, make sure they’re published.
    • Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize. Use the dropdown at the top to select a collection template and verify that your custom design is active.
  5. Clear Cache and Refresh:

    • After saving all changes, clear your browser cache and refresh the Shopify admin to ensure you see the latest updates.

Following these steps should help make your new collections available for assigning products and linking in the navigation. Let me know if you run into any issues along the way!

Hi Rajweb,

Thank you for this! Is there a way of setting the new collections as active without it affecting the published theme as i'm working on a re-build. Hope this makes sense. I can't seem to find the button to turn from draft to active
