All things Shopify and commerce
I am migrating our templates over from the legacy order printer to the new app.
I have successfully migrated the template and when i select it, the preview on screen works perfectly.
However, when i go to print it, the bottom half of the page cuts off. I've tried printing it to different printers and also to PDF and the same happens.
The length of the table varies depending on how many items are on the order but it always cuts off at the same point. For example, if I increase the number of lines in the shipping address, more of the order items table gets cut off.
Can anyone help?
I also have noticed this issue - for now our team has to adjust the scale of the page within the print settings so that it does not cut off a line item, but this is far from ideal. Also looking for a solution on this should you get one.
I've just had a chat session with support and they've established that its a bug they weren't aware off. They're investigating now apparently.
Their templates were working fine as they didn't physically extend that low on the page but at least 4 of my templates extend further and get cut off.
I have noticed this as well and found a kinda wonky workaround that works for me - Hopefully you will see some positive results as well.
In your template, try adding a border to your outermost container. This prevents the page from cutting off in my anecdotal experience. For example, this would add a 1 pixel transparent border:
<div style="border: 1px solid #00000000">
The rest of your HTML/ Liquid here...
...
...
</div>
I have no idea why this works for me, but it does.
Appreciate your efforts but this doesn't work for me unfortunately.
Genius and simple solution, thank you so much. Shopify has done a miserable job forcing this migration.
Didn't have any effect unfortunately.
I even tried this and rewriting the code completely inside the border but it still cuts off.
Very odd. Honestly it's got me very interested to know what could possibly be so different about your template. Would you consider posting your entire template so that I may look through it to satisfy my personal curiosity? Or if you're not posting it here, perhaps sending it to me in a private message?
Of course if I were to find a solution I would let you know.
I've just gone to test it to show the difference between the new and the legacy apps and it seems to now be working!
Did you get any update from Shopify on this?
Nope.
According the shopify its an issue with my printer settings. When I pointed out it also happened if I selected Print to PDF they then said its a coding error with the templates but they can't actually tell me what the error is.
