New Pricing - Is the Basic Plan eliminating email automation?

I have just received an email from Shopify saying that they will be updating their pricing in 3 months time. I understand they need to keep up with pricing and am fine with this, however I was hoping to find clarity about email automations. I'm currently on the Basic Plan as I just started my business and have email automations set up for 'Welcome Emails - offering discounts', abandoned carts, upsell, shipping fulfillment, etc.

It looks like the new pricing on Shopify Basic plans does not include email automation. Does this mean all of the automations I have today are going to disappear in 3 months? Does this mean I have to upgrade to a higher plan to keep them or find apps to replace this feature?

Was hoping that someone with more knowledge might be able to provide me clarity as I feel this could cause a lot of extra work and hours for me. Thanks!

I guess I'm just disappointed. I am willing to take a price increase, but not a reduction in services. And I don't think email automation is worth paying $60+ more per month for the upgraded plan.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure you still get those. This page shows a comparison of the features https://www.shopify.com/pricing?utm_source=exacttarget&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=pricing_change&...

If you scroll down to the comparison you will see:

Abandoned cart recovery

Automatically send emails to customers who leave your store without completing the checkout process.

Marketing automation

Build custom automations so you can engage customers at every stage of their journey.

Ecommerce automations Automate manual tasks, build workflows, and grow your business with the first built-in ecommerce automation platform. This page is showing the new pricing so it should be accurate. Hope this helps

Also if you are just starting out a great app I started with and still use is Seguno Email Marketing which also does all of that and does newsletters too. It's free until you reach 250 subscribers. I kept them even after than because I love how their newsletters are done.

Thank you Jeannie, I either missed this comparison chart or it didn't have the same level of detail when I reviewed yesterday on mobile. Thank you for this as it has given me a lot of peace of mind and reassurance that I don't have to rebuild part of my website back end!
