All things Shopify and commerce
We have experienced an increase in errors with customers not changing the defaults once logged in.
Unlike most One Page Checkouts, Shopify's has all the fields collapsed by default for logged in customers. They skip right over the important choices (delivery service & shipping address) as it is collapsed, and proceed to pay. Orders getting shipped to wrong addresses, people selecting Collection instead of shipping out.
An ideal One Page Cart - choose address > section collapses >shipping method choice expands >choose ship method, section closes and then hit pay. By default Shopify is hiding all this and blocks attempts to highlight these choices through denying access to CSS; giving the most limited customisations possible in admin. Basically, we need to change out entire store font and design to change the font of a checkout text line.
The only choice to attempt to minimise errors is to change the theme language as below. Looks terrible, but helps highlight to customers.
Awful, and no choice revert to a less error prone cart.
I am having this issue as well
My team have made at least 30 phone calls since monday to customers to correct and confirm their shipping method and shipping address.
You are now able to change back to the 3-page checkout. The setting is in Admin. That solved the problem for us.
That what i did however on mobile view its still not collapsed. 70% of our customers uses mobile when checking out
