All things Shopify and commerce
Hi I’m getting lots of visits to my site but hardly any sales , what is wrong ?
my site is www.adoreabelles.co.nz
Hey there Jamie @Jamieadore your store looks good and here are a few suggestions on how it could be improved.
1) In addition to the current favorites section, consider adding a section for the newest arrivals in the store or market as well.
2) Make use of a sticky header and put the search button on it, this would allow for navigation in your store to be much easier for customers.
3) Add a few FAQs on the homepage to share information on the products, delivery systems, etc.
Hi @Jamieadore
I think the biggest issue is your big centered logo and a huge menu, and those two elements cover almost half of the page. You have to ask yourself:
is your logo more important than the product, collections, or content? Because users will have to scroll on every page to get to parts that actually sell.
The menu also takes three rows, so visitors will be lost when they choose from 18 options. I read somewhere, some time ago, that you should have 5 to 7 items on the menu. So try to make a 2-3 main collection or like a lot of merchants do, place everything under Shop. Some mega menu would be good in your case but do not think your theme supports that.
From other things, to me dark orange background and black text is not a great combination. It is a bit blurry even if the contract value is OK.
Products with a lot of images/thumbnails look a bit off.
Also, a red button on checkouts Pay now looks wrong. Red is a warning color and that to me looks like some error or that I missed something in the form.
Hi @Jamieadore,
If you're getting a lot of visits to your Shopify site but not many sales, there could be several factors at play. Here are some potential issues and solutions based on the context provided:
Audience Targeting: Ensure that the traffic you're attracting is from an audience likely to convert into customers. Conduct thorough audience research to understand who your potential customers are and tailor your marketing efforts accordingly. Learn more about audience research.
Technical Issues: Check if your store is technically sound. Ensure that your site loads quickly and is mobile-friendly, as technical problems can deter potential buyers. Read about how site speed influences SEO.
Ease of Navigation: Make sure users can easily browse your products. Consider adding category pages to your site menu and a search function to help users find what they’re looking for quickly.
Trustworthiness: Build trust with your visitors by having a good contact page, security seals, and customer reviews. This can reassure potential buyers that your store is legitimate.
Checkout Process: Optimize your checkout page to reduce cart abandonment. Allow guest checkouts, keep the process short, and consider removing or clearly promoting discount code fields to prevent users from leaving your site in search of discounts.
Abandoned Cart Recovery: Use email reminders to recover abandoned checkouts. Shopify offers features to send emails to customers who have left items in their carts.
A/B Testing: Conduct A/B testing to determine which changes improve conversion rates. This can help you fine-tune your store for better performance. Read more about it here: How to get more value from site visitors with A/B testing
By addressing these areas, you may be able to convert more of your visitors into paying customers.
