I have changed a general store to a PET niche store. There are absolutely zero sales. Don't know what to do. I feel stuck. Is there anything wrong with the store. Please help. https://lukkydeals.com/

Hi Sreeti,

Where are you generating your leads from? Also do you have any numbers to share on traffic? Are you just getting no visits at all or no conversions?

Some random thoughts while browsing the store:

I'd get rid of the pop-up on first visit. You need critical mass and a following to make things like "early access" worth anyone's time. I don't tolerate this sort of hard-sell email collection from major websites, from an e-commerce store its especially not helpful.

Some discounts can be a double-edged sword. Spending 50$ to get 2.50$ off my order is very little discount. Doesn't inspire me to reach that spend threshold. Either increase it to like 15% or do away with the concept entirely. A way to make this sort of discount sound better however would be to say "First Class Shipping on all orders over $50." Still the same level of discount but its much more appealing.

Tone down or change the colour entirely of the banner up top. The black is quite oppressive as a first impression of the landing page.

Very person-specific opinion here, but maybe don't have the very first product picture be quite so much dog-balls. Not saying its going to stop people buying, but every little helps when your making the landing page first impression. Swap in the picture of the dog lying down perhaps as the first picture?

In each category, there is way too much text at the top. It's a huge un-broken block of text and I was bored/had stopped reading two lines down. Either condense it to a few sentences or get rid of it entirely.

Also in categories, maybe get rid of the Availability selector? It doesn't appear to serve a purpose - if a product is out of stock that particular item can be marked out of stock and have a different image with the product greyed out. In that filter instead could be things like colour and/or type of apparel.

Hope some of that helps.

Hi @sreetirumannama

I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with your Shopify store https://lukkydeals.com/. Here are some tips that might help you improve your store's performance and attract more visitors:

  1. Optimize for SEO: Make sure your store is optimized for search engines. This includes using relevant keywords in your product descriptions, titles, and meta tags. You can refer to the Shopify SEO ultimate guide for detailed steps.

  2. Improve Site Speed: Ensure your site loads quickly. A slow site can deter visitors. Shopify provides tools like Lighthouse to test and improve your site's speed.

  3. Mobile Usability: Check that your store is mobile-friendly, as many users shop on their phones. Test the user experience on different devices to ensure everything works smoothly.

  4. Build Trust: Add elements that build trust, such as a good contact page, security seals, and customer reviews. This can help reassure potential customers about the legitimacy of your store.

  5. Optimize Checkout Process: Simplify the checkout process to reduce cart abandonment. Allow guest checkouts and minimize the number of steps required to complete a purchase.

  6. Marketing and Promotion: Consider running marketing campaigns to drive traffic to your site. Use social media, email marketing, or paid ads to reach potential customers.

  7. Analyze and Adjust: Use analytics tools to understand where visitors are dropping off and make necessary adjustments.

If you continue to face issues, it might be helpful to seek feedback from others or consult with a digital marketing expert who can provide personalized advice based on a detailed review of your store.
