No traffic in store

No traffic in store

Hi,

I have a Shopify store which sells baby weaning products. The products are good quality. I have started this store like 7 months back. I am not getting any traffic there. So, I’m not concerned about conversion. Sometimes I do get 1/2 visitors per day but most of the time they are from other countries. I only sell products in the UK. I run a Google add for a month and managed to get only one sale recently. There were around 5 visits per day at that time. There is no point of spending 100s of pounds in advertisements if I am just making 1 sale. My page can be found in Google search. I started a Facebook add last week but I am not getting any visitors. I mean zero visitors. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I don’t have a budget for marketing. Also, I’m not willing to waste any money on marketing as I have wasted in the past and didn’t get any traffic to my website.

I was previously with blue host and transferred to Shopify 7 months back as I was having the impression that I will get more visitors here. I feel like the 25 pounds that I’m spending on Shopify is a waste as I hardly get one or two visitors per day.

People can comment saying my pictures are not good, there is not enough product, etc etc. But if this was the main issue than atleast I could have some visitors in my website without any conversion.

I know so many people buy baby products online. So, my website should have some traffic.

or should I just close Shopify and invest in Amazon and see how things goes.

I am really frustrated at this point as I have a lot of stocks but not getting any sales. I had plans to bring more products but I kept that on hold as I am not getting any traffic.

I’m in TikTok as well. I had free sales there in first few weeks. Or should I just advertise in TikTok ? Then the sale will be through TikTok and not Shopify.

Hi @Weaning,

I understand your frustration with low traffic to your Shopify store, especially after your investment in ads. Here are a few strategies to improve your visibility:

  1. SEO Optimization: Ensure your site is optimized for UK-based searches. Use relevant keywords in your product titles and descriptions to attract organic traffic.
  2. Social Media Engagement: Since you have a TikTok presence, consider creating engaging content showcasing your products. This platform has a strong reach for parenting-related content.
  3. Collaborate with Influencers: Partnering with parenting influencers can boost your visibility and drive targeted traffic to your store.
  4. Engage with Your Audience: Regularly update your social media and engage with your audience to create a community around your brand.
  5. Analyze Your Competition: Look at competitors in your niche to see what marketing strategies are working for them.

If you're still struggling, consider exploring other platforms like Amazon. However, investing in your Shopify store with a targeted marketing approach can yield better long-term results.

It's understandable to feel frustrated when your online store isn't generating the desired traffic and sales. Let's break down the potential issues and explore some strategies:

  • Traffic Generation: Use Google Ads with relevant keyword, Social Media Marketing (utilize your TikTok profile) to reach a wider audience, also remember to align your content with TikTok's trend and formats

  • Website Optimization:
  • SEO: While your website might appear in Google search, it's essential to optimize it further. Use relevant keywords in your product descriptions and meta tags.
  • Product Photography: High-quality product images can significantly impact conversions. Invest in professional photography or use a good smartphone camera and editing tools.

  • Product Offerings:
  • Niche Down: Consider specializing in a specific niche within baby weaning products. This can help you target a more specific audience and stand out from the competition.
  • Promotion Offers: Create product bundles or discount campaign to encourage larger purchases.

Additional Tips:

  • Offer Free Shipping: This can be a powerful incentive for customers to make a purchase.
  • Run Limited-Time Promotions: Create a sense of urgency with time-sensitive offers.
  • Partner with Influencers: Collaborate with influencers in the baby and parenting niche to reach a wider audience.

By implementing these strategies and remaining patient, you can increase traffic to your Shopify store and drive sales.

Hi @Weaning

It sounds like you're facing a challenging situation with your Shopify store. Here are some strategies you might consider to increase traffic without spending a lot on advertising:

  2. Content Marketing: Start a blog on your Shopify store to attract more visitors through content marketing. Write about topics related to baby weaning, parenting tips, or product guides. This can help improve your search engine rankings and attract organic traffic. How to add a blog to your Shopify store.

  3. Social Media Engagement: Instead of paid ads, focus on building a community on social media platforms like Instagram or TikTok. Share engaging content that resonates with your target audience and encourages them to visit your store.

  4. Local SEO: Since you only sell in the UK, ensure your store is optimized for local searches. Use location-specific keywords and register your business with Google My Business.

  5. Collaborations and Influencers: Partner with influencers or bloggers in the parenting niche who can promote your products to their audience.

  6. Customer Reviews and Testimonials: Encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews and testimonials on your site and social media pages.

  7. Email Marketing: Build an email list and send newsletters with promotions, new product launches, or useful content related to baby weaning.

If you decide to explore other platforms like Amazon, consider the pros and cons, such as fees and competition, before making a decision.

Ultimately, it might be beneficial to test different strategies and see what works best for your specific situation.
