How does a non profit apply for pricing discounts

We offer two plans for non-profit organizations: NPO Lite and NPO Full. I would like to detail each plan's features and benefits so you are able to make an informed decision about which plan to choose:

• NPO Lite with an online store costs $29 USD per month
• NPO Full with an online store costs $99 USD per month

Some businesses do not require an online store and we offer a reduced price in that instance. We also offer an annual rate for each plan. 

The NPO Lite plan offers additional features to the Basic Plan that are not normally available on that plan. These features are:

• 1% transaction fees if using a 3rd party payment provider (instead of 2% on the Basic plan - Shopify plan feature)
• Lower Shopify Payments credit card rates (Shopify plan rates instead of the Basic plan rates - Shopify plan feature)
• Accept donations through Shopify Payments if a registered charity in US/Canada.
• Unlimited Staff Accounts (instead of 2 - Plus plan feature)
• Real-time Carrier Shipping (Advanced plan feature)

The NPO Full plan is similar to the Shopify plan, but comes with more robust features. These features are:

• 0% transaction fees if the merchant is using a 3rd party payment provider (instead of 1% on the Shopify plan - better than the Advanced Shopify plan feature)
• Lower Shopify Payments credit card rates than the Shopify Plan (Advanced Shopify rates
• Unlimited Staff Accounts (instead of 5 on the Shopify plan - Plus plan feature)
• Accept donations through Shopify Payments if a registered charity in US/Canada.
• Real-time Carrier Shipping (Advanced plan feature)

In order to sign up for one of these plans you will need to contact Shopify Support directly so that they can verify your NPO status and apply the relevant plan changes. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat.

How does one go about the process of getting verified? And how long does it take?

In order to sign up for one of these plans you will need to contact Shopify Support directly here so that they can verify your NPO status. The process is relatively quick if you can provide all the required information.

I see that NPO Full reflects the Shopify Plan. The one feature I need in Advanced is integrating 3rd party shipper rates from our fulfillment center. Is the Real-time Carrier Shipping that is included with NPO Full equate to being able to integrate 3rd party shipper rates?

Yes you are correct! If you have your own account with an eligible shipping carrier, then you can connect your third-party carrier account to your Shopify admin, and then display carrier-calculated shipping rates to your customers at checkout.

Confirming I can do this with the NPO Full. If I need Shopify Advanced, is
there anything with NPO Full that would not be taken care of under NPO?

Also what would I need to get set up for non-profit status?

Yes the Real-time Carrier Shipping (Advanced plan feature) is included within the NPO Full plan. The main benefit of NPO Full includes lower transaction / credit card fees in comparison to the standard NPO plan. For example: 0% transaction fees if using a 3rd party payment provider.

If a feature is not mentioned above, assume it matches what is listed for the Shopify plan.

Where are you based? Specific requirements can vary depending on your location and the nature of your non-profit. Always consult with a legal expert or an attorney to ensure you're meeting all the necessary legal requirements.

There is non-profit pricing. I ended up connecting with a support rep via live chat and they were able to take care of it for me.
