Not making sales on my new store

Good evening,

It's been almost a week since I opened my website. I have been getting some traffic passing through on my website after running a few facebook and instagram ads.

Can someone honestly rate my store and provide useful feedback?

Hi DeluxeHaven,

I've had a good look into your site and what you have is amazing.

My suggestions to you would to try focus on marketing, meaning: SEO/Social Media Marketing/Paid AD's/Influencer Marketing.

The above suggestions are the main points of the 85% of ecommerce sales as of 2025.

There are multiple platforms online that can help you do this.

(im unsure if i'm allowed to post them on here) but if you type ''freelancer, social media marketing, FB AD's'' into google im sure you'll find a huge list of sites that have people waiting to help people like you.

Us too at Gabe & Syl use these methods and i can first hand say we will continue to use these services that we all have access too.

i hope this helps a little & we wish you so much luck with your project!

Hi @DeluxeHaven

Welcome to the community and congratulations on opening your store.

First, one advice, be patient and work on your store every day.  You have the basic setup with a free theme and you are in the same spot as

thousands of other merchants at the start. So try to learn from them, and search here or on Google "No sales". There are hundreds of topics and a lot of good advice that people share that can be applied to your store also. Take your time and do some research.

But in general, here are a few things I noticed:

Homepage:

  • The menu, you have too many items there, so much that navigation is in two rows. That is not recommended so try to remove "Home" (most visitors know to use the logo instead) and try to remove the Country/currency dropdown, you have it in the footer. That way you should have more space so it makes one row
  • The hero banner is good height but both images got zoomed in, depending on the screen, so not much use for them. Maybe just put one image and engage customers with some event, for example, everyone now focuses on Valentine's Day. Also having "SHOP THE COLLECTION" disabled will just make people leave straight away. So take care and check that every button has a link.
  • For featured products, try not to include "Sold out" items, that do not look good.
  • Also in general, think about renaming your products "HD10003" does not mean much to visitors but "18k Gold Filled Cubic Zirconia Butterfly Earrings" would mean more plus good for SEO.
  • "Our Story" section text is good but you need to hide that button on the bottom
  • And you need more sections here, like Shop by Collection, which could be below the hero banner. Then a few image/text sections to explain maybe more about sets or About us.
  • Video reviews would be great here but I guess you will need some time to gather them.
  • Use the footer to add 2-3  link sections to collections, custom pages...

Collection pages:

  • try to get more text there, and to be unique enough so no repeating "touch of elegance" in every sentence 🙂
  • try to make all images the same size, and not sure if you did make images yourself, that is a plus as they are unique, but try to have them all the same or in similar lighting, some look darker. Also do watch out for catching reflections on some items. Those are like mirrors. And check on YouTube for "DIY product photography" a lot of nice and easy guides.

Product page:

  • You need a lot more info about products, size, weight, dimensions, material...
  • Please change the color of the Add to cart button, that should be the most important element on the page and it is almost invisible, do not stand out and visitors could miss it. The background should be full, your accent color, or just black and text color white.
  • Add shipping info here
  • And add more sections here, some icons with text for reassurance, and some review apps, you need more content to boost credibility.

In general good start, but a lot more work ahead, both on the website and on social networks to share content and get more visitors naturally. Do check  "jewelry UK"  on Google and from the first page check every store and see what they are doing right.

Good luck and hope sales will come.

Kind regards

Hello @DeluxeHaven,

Great website! Its overall vibe conveys the elegance of your brand. However, I suggest you should improve the hero image and the call-to-action button on your homepage, as it negatively affects your sales, create descriptive product titles and product descriptions, and add reviews.

My Whidegroup team has huge experience in conversion optimization. There is a great example my team has done for a Japanese furniture and accessories store. You can find more details about it in the portfolio section on our website. (I'm not sure if sharing links is allowed here.)

Please, get in touch if you need any assistance.

Best regards,
Anastasia

Hi @DeluxeHaven ,

You've already received some great advice on optimizing your store for sales. I’d like to add a few more tips:

1️⃣ Add a favicon – A missing favicon can make your store look unpolished and less trustworthy. A simple icon can instantly improve professionalism.

2️⃣ Balance SEO & Advertising – While SEO is important, it takes time to see results. In the meantime, consider running ads and promoting your brand in niche forums to drive immediate traffic.

3️⃣ Analyze Visitor Behavior – Use Google Analytics or Hotjar to track where visitors are coming from and where they drop off. This can help you identify potential issues.

4️⃣ Get Feedback – Ask friends or family to browse your store and share their honest thoughts. Sometimes, an outside perspective can highlight things you may have overlooked.

Hope this helps!
