Hey, @premija!

Based on the screenshots you provided, we can confirm that your domain is having issues because of a missing TLS (Transport Layer Security) or SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate. This certificate is essential and crucial to have, as it ensures that the connection in your website is private and secure. Without it, domains will not function properly and it will cause browsers to display a warning to website visitors.

Normally, when you transfer a domain into Shopify, a TLS or SSL certificate is automatically issued within 48 hours after a domain transfer, which takes up to 20 days to complete. If it's been more than 48 hours since the completed domain transfer and your domain still has an SSL Pending status, we'll need to access your account to investigate the domain. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you with your domain through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit https://bit.ly/3cJkx8V and log in to your account to create a support request.

In order to save some time, and help the Support Advisor you speak with to pick up from where you and I have left off, I am going to provide you with a summary of the issue as I understand it. You can share this summary at the beginning of your conversation with the agent to bring you both up to speed and help to get your answers as quickly as possible.

Issue Summary: SSL certificate is still pending more than 48 hours after the third-party domain (Google Domains) was transferred into Shopify

Since this is the next step I've marked this reply as the solution for the benefit of others who may discover this topic. Thanks!

How do I go about doing that? I have been doing some reading and apparently there is supposed to be an option to active SSL but that option is not available in my account. In addition to this, Shopify is supposed to automatically update the SSL certificate so I'm confused and frustrated because I am unable to get in touch with Shopify Staff for urgent matters like this.

The domain was purchased from Google. When I transferred the domain, I followed all the instructions and the website was working well for a couple months and now I am facing this issue.

Hi. I’m trying to access shopify’s website on my laptop and I keep getting this message. I wasn’t even able to create an account. I had to create an account on my phone. But now that I want to create the actual layout etc…. I need to access shopify on a laptop for ease. I’m concerned as I hope this won’t discourage customers and am now considering not transferring my website. What’s the reason for this?
