We are looking to implement a membership subscription to our shopify store which will give members access to:
1. Free delivery 
2. Access to subscribe to monthly product subscription offers 
3. % off each product price

My question is, what apps or features would I need to add in order to make this possible without making the site slow/clunky etc. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated

if you want to roll out your membership perks seamlessly, u can pair a membership app like Bold Memberships or AAA Memberships to handle tiers and tagging.

also add a subscription tool, Recharge or Shopify’s native Subscriptions to power those monthly offers.

 

some of the app use an auto-discount/free-shipping solution (Shopify Functions or Scripts on Plus) that tags members and applies their benefits at checkout.

Lesle this side from the Dollarlabs team, we help brands run better promotions and solve for repeat purchases. A membership is quite a battle-tested approach to drive repeat purchases on the store and the benefits you listed are pretty significant and adds value to the customer.

 

You'd need the following tools / apps to get such a program setup. 

The steps you'd need to follow with each are listed below 

  1. Set up a product on a subscription selling plan using the subscription app of choice - and set it so that it tags the customer based on the plan purchased. (tag is auto removed when the subscription is cancelled)

    Reference screengrab attached from Loop Subscriptions which already has this option inbuilt.

    You could also use other options like recurpay / subify and others which might have similar functionality out of the box

     

  2. Configure a automatic discount on "Dollarlabs: Ultimate Discounts" - which automatically gives a % / $ amount based on the customer tag set, Here's a screengrab that shows how it works. You can even setup tier break discounts on top of the membership discount and show the final price on collection/product / cart/checkout pages

    For the special subscription offers, you can set these up as well as a extra discount on top of the regular subscribe and save for the members only.

@jhmcglobal since this reply, I was actually able to record a video walkthrough of how one can set up membership pricing on their Shopify store. 

 

It's hosted on YouTube and also has a bit of code that helps you achieve most of the functionality for free.
