One inventory - Multiple locations

One inventory - Multiple locations

This seems like a super basic thing and I cannot figure it out.  I have one store front where all the inventory is housed. I also do pop up events, but I take inventory from the store and sell it there.  The way shopify is set up I need to create a separate location for the pop ups in order to track the sales separately.  It is a HUGE pain to have to transfer inventory back and forth each week.

I know shopify is known for inefficiencies in all aspects, but there has got to be a way to have each popup location pull from the same inventory.  PLEASE HELP!  It is absurd that this isn't just a simple option.

Hello @Rivertowninkery

If your request I clear, you meant how can you track your POP UP Sales with Shopify?

Pop-up is a physical event why Shopify is just an online store we do not manage or keep your inventory, hope that's clear.

But to do that, let's assume the customers buy the product from your store its possible to track the order even the customer himself can also track the order. Tons of apps can help you with that

I will like to mention but let me know of the suggestion is welcome by liking

Thanks

@Rivertowninkery That's how Shopify is built, unfortunately.

I read your previous topics as well, with the problems you face in shopify.

We have not gone live, but understood that we could have multiple locations and one production wharehouse / inventory so that we can track the inventory at each location. This is most disappointing as we have just transferred over from Woocmmerce to solve all the manual processes we currently have to deal with. Surely this should not be a big deal for inventory.

Hello @Rivertowninkery,

Yes, there is no simple way to track inventory online and adjust it for offline pop-up events. You can only help yourself by creating different warehouses in Shopify (the 1st one - for your online store, the 2nd one - for offline events). This way you can give yourself some sort of automatization in updating the stock (while transferring inventory back and forth). Unfortunately.

Hi! I’m in the same situation as you and I engaged someone to help me with this! So I run pop-up too, and I want to put 2 locations to track stocks. If a customer want to buy at pop-up but is out of stock, I can check if my office has stocks or not. But I don’t want to transfer stocks back and forth after the pop-up ended, as my worry is my customers online may not be able to place the right quantity I have instock on the website.

Basically if you don’t mind 2 locations, but just need to consolidate them for online sales, can I understand if this is what you want?

Office/Warehouse Qty: 2

Pop-up Qty: 2

So if you add these 2,

Online store Qty: 4

When someone purchase 3 qty online,

Office/Warehouse Qty: 0

Pop-up Qty: 1

So I’m not sure what the tech guy did, but here’s a screenshot. So perhaps just follow this setting and it might work out for you 😊🫶🏻

If you need help, you can contact that guy for help too, his email is in the image too. Hope this helps!
