One pickup location for multiple locations

Hi! We have multiple locations in our shopify and are facing an issue with local pickups. 

when an item is stocked at our store and a customer chooses on our checkout page to pick it up in store, the option to do so is available. 

however, when the item is not in stock in our store, but available in our warehouse, the option to pick up in store is not available anymore. We do not want customers picking up from our warehouse so we configured for the warehouse not to offer local pickup. We want customers to pick up in store instead. 

I have tried searching for an answer online. Most solutions have to do with multiple pick up locations. we don’t want to have multiple pick up locations.

If a customer would like to place an order for an item that is in our warehouse and not in store, we would like the pickup in store option to be available. How can we enable one pickup location for all locations on shopify?

We are having the same issue, we have one pick up location and the order could be fulfilled from the store and our warehouse combined.  So far the only solution is the customer has to do 2 transactions, to get the full quantity they are trying to order.  For example, our store has 5 skeins of yarn and our warehouse has 10.  Our customer wants to order 15 skeins and currently cannot do that unless they do one order for 5 and a second order for 10.  The only option where they can do it all in one order is if they select shipping.

I just want to be clear on what the issue and the feedback is here, so I can best advise on next steps, and pass feedback along internally if needed. Is the issue that we're hoping to have multiple pickup locations assigned to a single order (so a customer could go to location A to pick up 5 units of product, and then location B to pick up the remainder)? If this is the issue at hand, we have received some feedback in the past regarding making this functionality something available for use in Shopify, as it's currently not supported natively, so we can pass some feedback along to show the developers that this is still a desired function. You may be able to use third party apps to facilitate this!

Or, are we facing an issue where, when there is enough inventory to statisfy an order in two different fulfilment locations, we want to offer local pickup as an option to the customer, as the business can deliver product from the warehouse to the pickup location? 

It sounds like there may be two different issues here, so I'd like to be sure if we're actually dealing with two different issues/requests, or if I'm just misunderstanding. Thanks!
