Order status is not updating to fulfilled

I updated orders as fulfilled but the status is still showing in progress status.  The orders have been paid in full and delivered.  There is no issue with the order but it still shows as In progress on the Shopify side.  I have clicked the orders and tried to mark as fulfilled; however they remain in the status of in progress.  How can get this cleared up?

Thank you!

I'm guessing that the fulfillment order is connected to a 3rd party fulfillment service. In that case, rather than fulfilling the item it is requesting fulfillment, putting it in progress.

Here's how you can probably solve that:

1) In the order details page, cancel the fulfillment

2) Click the 3 dots in the top right of the fulfillment order box, and change location

3) Change to a location you manage (like your default location)

4) Mark as fulfilled

If you aren't able to change the location, then it's probably because there is no stock for that product at that location. In that case, click on the product and assign inventory to the location you want to change to.

Note for the future, for stuff like this it helps to see a screenshot to identify the problem. We work with fulfillment a lot with our app so I have a pretty good idea what's going on, but just a general tip for forum posting. 🙂
