All things Shopify and commerce
Got an email from shopify a few days ago saying they were shutting down our credit card processing, due to an "elevated level of risk for customer disputes". We've been open for over a year and have had ZERO CHARGEBACKS, a total of 2-3 returns, and no other problems with our account. We also ship on time and buy shipping labels through shopify so they can see all our tracking info. This is my only source of income as well as for my elderly parents. By looking at our recent traffic, we've now lost about $10k in sales since they shut us down. Meanwhile we're scrambling trying to get set up with another payment processor. This is also a seasonal business (garden supplies), so this is a huge deal and we have very large advertising bills about to come due. Shopify gave us no warning and did not tell us why we were being suspended. They could have at least contacted us to get more information on our business if they thought there was a problem.
