I hired someone to index my website. That was 1st week of December. I understand it can take a few weeks for indexing to happen. What I am concerned about is when looking at Google rich search, 19 products populate. I have around 1,000 products now. The ones that populated were listed a whole month after free lancer's work was finished. None of the products he worked on even populated. The 19 that are populating are very similar to several more that aren't populating. Did I hired someone that really doesn't know what they were doing? Should I hire someone else to help me? I am very uneducated in this type of thing.
Thanks,
Kim

Having operated websites with thousands of pages, I can offer this advice: if there are multiple pages with similar content (eg., similar products), Google will not index them for many weeks. These pages will show as "crawled but not indexed" in your search console. You can either manually request indexing for your most important products, or move similar products into a single product with variants.
So if you have two different products for red and blue jacket. Move them into a single "Jacket" product with red and blue as variants. That should index quicker.
Hey there @Kimmy25 like @dpand already mentioned, your best options are to manually request for the products to be indexed or to simply just move the ones that are similar to the populated ones under a single product with many variants. That could work better.
You should do these before looking to hire another person.
I appreciate your advice. This particular "rich search" product does have variants. I have several products that are identical, but different colors. I also used variants for those. I have looked at the particular listing and can't find any different or special about vs other listings I have. Not any that I can see because I am not smart in this area. I am wondering if I should leave google search gender and age group blank? I have tumbler accessories so I usually pick Universal and Unisex. Thank you.
