Paid for a Domain, had it renewed, have receipts and SHOPIFY will not release it to me

It't been 2 weeks now that I have requested support team for my domain which apparently they cannot find it.
I have provided my registration for the domain and confirmation of payment.
Spoke to support multiple times, have a ticket in place and its been 2 weeks now.
No updates, no nothing.
How is it possible that a technology company cannot find a domain? What a joke.

Have you purchased this domain under Shopify or from third party domain? If from third party domain, it would be best to reach to your third-party domain provider if not, consider if you recently deactivated your Shopify account for a while. Otherwise, it would be best to keep an open communication with them and wait for their feedback.
