Payment of Shopify Bills

Payment of Shopify Bills

Hello, I recently purchased Shopify's Basic Plan for my store but the store didn't work well as much I thought. Moreover, I wasn't able to afford Shopify's bills so thought of deactivating the store. While deactivating, it stated that I need to pay the bill (app usage charges) otherwise store wouldn't be deactivated. So if I won't pay the bill, will the amount increase or remain same and what will happen to my store. Will Shopify deactivate it automatically?

Hey @Desidrop.

Thanks for reaching out.

That is a great question! If you are unable to pay the outstanding balance for your Shopify bill, Shopify will attempt to charge the card on file for the outstanding charge. If Shopify is unable to charge the payment method added to the store, the store will become frozen and will be deactivated automatically. With that being said, if you attempt to re-open the Shopify store, you will be prompted to pay the outstanding charge in order to have the store available to your customers.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, @Desidrop.

Thank you for reaching out. Outstanding invoices must be paid in order to close down the store, however, we can certainly take a deeper look at your account to see your current usage and any alternatives. Moreover, the charge will usually automatically be attempted regardless, after which you should be able to deactivate.

My question is, if I am unable to pay the bill will Shopify automatically deactivate my store or will the charges be automatically attempted?

I have the same problem. Basically I used Shopify and I paid the 1 month free trial thing. Then I didn't touch it in a while, until I got a notification saying unpaid bill of $51. I thought that it wouldn't charge me a fee and I now it says I need to pay it in order to deactivate my store. I only have around $15 in my bank account and no source of income and I am in high school. I literally have no way of paying this off and I really want to get rid of this. I thought the store would just close and I wouldn't have to pay the $51 plus tax. I really want to cancel this because I have no way of paying this off.

I DONT have a store, I canceled DURING the trial period & said, this is not for me. I told support this, but I did start filling out information like a store name. I never sold anything on the store, never made money, but the bills kept coming after I canceled it!

Get rid of my account please,

Helen Ciulla

Hi,
I have nothing to do with Shopify. I only clicked on it for a 3 day trial
period, and cancelled it before the 3 days was up. I never picked a plan. I
did look into it and made up a store name.
I never even joined a store, but yet they keep on billing me. I never sold
anything, made any money etc. I want them to fix this. So, I'm sorry I
can't help you, I'm only a Previous Contender.
