All things Shopify and commerce
We've been using Shopify for our online footwear business for the last few years and am generally really happy with it. We're based in New Zealand (our stock distribution etc) and sell from there to customers in NZ and around the world.
I've recently made the move to the UK and am now in the process of setting up a second point of distribution in the UK and will be distributing product from there to UK customers too, which we'll need to charge VAT on.
I'm just trying to understand if we can get by with our existing site using the 'markets' feature and having a second warehouse location for the UK stock, or will we need a duplicate 'uk specific' site in order to collect payments to our UK bank account and pay VAT on them?
Is there a way to have UK orders be paid out into a UK bank account and rest of world orders paid into our NZ account as they currently are?
Hi @ORA87
If you want to use UK bank account for payouts, you will need to create a separate website and Shopify account specifically for UK currency and payout UK bank account. If you are going use the same Shopify account with NZ bank account, you can still sell in the UK with UK currency although, the payout currency will remain NZ. The payout currency will depend on the store’s location.
