All things Shopify and commerce
Myself and team, along with most of our customers are receiving this notification when logging onto our website. 'This page is temporarily unavailable because a device from your location is sending large amounts of web requests. Visitors from other locations can still view the page.' What can I do to help clean this up so that we can continue to have our customers shop?
Hey, @SydneyM!
The issue you're seeing would typically be caused by malicious software on one or more of your devices that use the same network. If you have more than one device on your network then I would recommend powering them down. Then, one by one, start them up and try to access your Shopify store. If you are successful in loading the Shopify admin, then you can proceed with starting up the next computer. By doing this, you are narrowing down which device is sending the large number of webhooks which will result in all of your devices getting the error as the error is connected to your IP.
Common culprits for this error:
If you can narrow it down to which device is causing the issue, then you can try disabling the extensions/software to determine the root cause. If you have any trouble finding which device/program is causing the issue then let me know. I can verify the store and escalate the request up to our Technical Support to see what we can find on our end.

Hi Peter:
Thank you for your reply.
I removed a couple of extensions from my laptop that were contributing, but I've received a few more emails from shoppers who are also still having the same trouble. I'm even having problems with AdWords now.
Any suggestions?
Thank you for all of your help!
It is rare for this error to affect customers; however, if it does, it is likely due to having Cloudflare enabled on your domain as Cloudflare masks all incoming traffic as a single IP. In these cases, it's possible for customers to get banned too. You would need to disable this option in order to resolve the error as the error is connected to a specific IP. If you do not have Cloudflare enabled, and your customers are still having issues, then we'd need you to collect their IP address by using services such as whatsmyipaddress.com. In addition to this, we would also need a screenshot from each customer, along with information about the device, and browser they are using. Once you have that information, let me know as I can verify your store and escalate this up to our Technical Support.
