All things Shopify and commerce
When we sell at the pop up shop we usually take orders for items that are in the warehouse.
What we used to do is complete an order form and then on a night manually update the stock levels
These were the days of magento and square.
We saw the light recently and moved to Shopify and Shopify Pos Go for selling at the pop ups.
We set up the following location
1) Pop up shop - the inventory that we take with us to the pop up shop
2) Warehouse - where 99% of our stock is held
When we do pop ups we take orders for the larger items
The question is if someone wants to order an item at the pop up say a jumper, Which we dont have how do I place the order on the Pos Go Terminal ensuring that the warehouse stock is update. Ie Pos lite is set to pop up and on the screen it says jumper 0 but in stock at another location 7
I expect the answer is change the location of the terminal
But what happens if they want to buy an item that is at the popup say gloves and a jumper how do I split the location on the Pos go terminal to ensure that inventory qtys are correct.
Ie we dont want to spend all night entering orders when the pos terminal should be able to do it at point of purchase
I was sold on the fact that inventory could be issued from multiple locations to fullfil orders.
Hope that explains what Im looking for.
On Shopify POS Go, to handle orders for items from multiple locations, you can use the "Ship to Customer" option for out-of-stock items like the jumper from the warehouse. This allows you to fulfill orders from the warehouse, while still selling in-stock items from the pop-up location, like the gloves. No need to switch the location of the terminal. The system will update inventory automatically based on where each item is fulfilled from, so your stock levels will stay accurate without needing manual adjustments later.
We are on Pos Lite and ship to customer is a Pos Pro feature
