Printer not showing in connected hardware list--all shopify glitches

Jan 6th mid-day  our Star Micronics TSP100iii stops working.  We go back and set up hardware to connect it....follow the steps.. Shopify says "printer setup complete"  "your receipt printer will appear in the conneced hardware list".  PRINTER does not show up and we are unable to print anything.  We contacted shopify and have yet to get a solution.  It is the 12th.   In the meantime,  had our IT come in, check connections (our printer is ethernet connected), verify it can be found on the network,  ran tests, etc, etc etc.  All checks out fine. Shopify POS recognizes it as a connected hardware in setup, but doesn't appear in the list, therefore can not print a single thing.

Talked with Shopify today, apparently the person helping me is sleeping right now and is on the opposite schedule of central time, and missed a day of responding.  Does anyone know how to #1 fix this issue  #2 get timely fixes for problems with shopify?   I am not happy with the update, nor am I happy about the "To continue receiving payouts, you need to secure your account by turning on two-step authentication before January 18th, 2023. If two-step authentication is not turned on your payouts will be paused."  I had this feature set up before and it caused issues so I turned it off.  Everytime admin needs to log in at a different computer or if you have multiple locations, you have to be constantly dragging your phone with for the verification.   Thumbs down on this, and OMG you won't give me my money unless I comply, this is wrong as well.    After Shopify POS double charged a client of mine, as the system hiccuped and charged his acct twice in december--  it took way too long for them to correct the issue, customer was not happy.  The best part was the guy that was "fixing" the issue, did not read the information provided as to what the problem was, so it literally took a week before he understood, that the system charged the same thing twice, and there was no ticket number to match the second charge.  Then it took from the 12th of Dec to Dec 22th for the customer to get a charge card credit issued( not received)  I am not happy with Shopify and it's glitches.... had one today as well, cc transaction would not complete because of another glitch.  They are slow to get them fixed....

Same. I have tried everything I can think of, plus all of the troubleshooting I have read. Our printer is the bluetooth one. It worked great for six months and then just completely stopped connecting two weeks ago.

Was there ever any resolution to this issue? We are having the same circumstance. No assistance from Shopify. They say email is coming.... never happens. Even if you get an email, the solutions they recommend do not resolve the issue.

As it turns out. The Micronics TP100III, Model TP143W (WiFi) printer will
not work with Shopify when 2 printers are on the same network segment (IP
address range). The same for a wired ethernet printer.

We wound up sending 2 WiFi printers back and ordering Epson BlueTooth
receipt printers. They arrived and have been configured. They only work
with one terminal. This configuration defeats the possibility of using a
different printer if the local printer fails.

We have found several things that don't work the way you think they would
in Shopify. We have lost total confidence in their "support team". We
generally now look for other sources of technical and operational
assistance.

We only have one printer but have not been able to connect to Shopify. TSP100lllLan never shows up in connected hardware. We have tried several fixes but nothing works. The printer works fine through other apps on the same iPad but not Shopify. Did anyone find a fix?

We have had the same issue, Shopify recommends printer updates, etc. but the printer connects and works fine with everything else except the Shopify app.

After many hours we figured out a fix for now with our network provider. Our modem was set to switch automatically between 2.4GHz and 5GHz based on the best connectivity at that moment. We gave each a different name (2.4 vs5) and assigned 2.4Ghz specifically to the printer. It connected immediately.
just make sure to change to the same network on the iPad too.
the Shopify POS app will only connect to tsp143iiilan on the 2.4Ghz band.
the tsp printer will connect to other apps on 5g.

hope this helps…

My Comcast Modem was broadcasting the 2G 2.4 ghz and my laptop was on the 5G.

I made the laptop Ipad forget the 5G so now it only logs into the 2G.

It connected to my printer right away.

So you have both your ipad and the printer connected to the 2g specifically? I put my printer on the 2g but left the ipad on the 5g and direct connected the printer to the modem. It still drops daily. Did you connect your printer through shopify "add hardware"? Thanks for any help. This has been going on for 9 months for us now and can't figure it out with no  help.

All the equipment needs to be on the same network. We have the POSgo, receipt printer, bar code scanner, & iPad on the same network.
