Hello,

I would like to synchronize my products on Tik Tok Shop, it worked for three products but I have an error on the last one. I have this text: “The format of the extra identification code is incorrect”.

The error message “The format of the extra identification code is incorrect” usually refers to an issue with the product's GTIN, UPC, or another identification code required by TikTok Shop.


Here’s what you can do:

  1. Check the product’s identification code in your Shopify product settings. Make sure:

    • It's the correct format (e.g., a valid 12-digit UPC or 13-digit EAN).

    • There are no extra characters or spaces.

  2. If the product doesn't have a valid code, you can:

    • Leave the field blank if TikTok allows it for that product type.

    • Or disable the “Requires a product identifier” option if available.

  3. After correcting the code or removing it, try syncing again.

Thank you very much, I just changed EAN to GTIN and added a 0 in front of the code. This was due to the EAN code not being properly taken into account!
