Product page loading slow because of webp

Hey,

The product page of a shop I am working on is loading very slow, I have checked the network tab and the images are not big, less than 200kb in webp and still they are loading very slow.

Do you have any idea of what might be causing this or what could I do to address it?

Are these images located on the Shopify CDN or are they located on another server?

they are all located in the shopify cdn, uploaded from within the product pages.

It is mostly on the product pages, if you click on any of those products. Sometimes the image takes a long time to load even though they seem to be quite small. Thank you!

Hi, 

It looks like a JS issue. You are using an animation on one of the images and that looks like it is drastically slowing down the loading time on the product page. Hope that helps.

Thank you! I have tried inspecting it but I don't see the animation causing it. it only happens once, when I reload the page it loads fast so I am a bit confused. Wouldn't be triggering all the time if it was an animation?

Your browser will likely cache the JS file so it isn't calling and loading it again when you reload the page.
