Product personalisation upload with a CSV file

Hi all, looking for some well needed advice.

I have a supplier that offers custom personalised products. They offer a CSV with all the personalisation options as well. which are all single line text inputs.

Here is an example of the csv

products_skuinstruction_idinstruction_seq_noinstruction_labelconstraint_idinstruction_value_maxinstruction_mandatoryinstruction_fixed
instruction_fixed_value

1010102010411Name 15FALSEFALSE
1010102010422Message 30FALSEFALSE
1010102010433Message 30FALSEFALSE
1010102010444Message 30FALSEFALSE
1010102010455Year 4FALSEFALSE
1010102010611Name 15FALSEFALSE
1010102010622Message 40FALSEFALSE

This is an example website: https://www.prezzybox.com/personalised-me-to-you-the-one-i-love-book.aspx that offers the personalisation option. This is what I'm trying to achieve. Does anyone who has done anything similar or have an idea of how to go about it?

There are 1000+ products, and I have all the information, but I am finding it hard to find a way to set it up. I have tried most of the apps on shopify and none seem to offer what I am looking for.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a desperate shopifyer?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there thank you for your reply, I have already tried your app and I can't see where the options can be uploaded with a CSV file.

Hi @danmurrell,

The Easify Product Options app (free plan available) can assist you in setting up those custom text fields for all of your products in just a few minutes 🤗. Here's an example:

In-app setup using Text Area (long text field) & Text Box (short text field):

If you wish to hide the text fields to display only when customers opt for customization, you can add a Checkbox. Then, apply Conditional logic so the above text fields only appear when the checkbox is selected. For example:

Hi thank you for your comment, I have already tried your app. The conditions worked however they did not when I uploaded a CSV file, I reached out to support and was told it couldn't be done and had to be done manually.

Hi @danmurrell,

We do offer an import/export function, but it requires modifying your CSV to adhere to our format before importing, which might not be the most efficient approach.

Instead, consider creating just 1 option set and utilizing our product assignment feature to add all the custom options to your products. You'll have 3 options to choose from:

  1. Add options to all products.
  2. Add options to specific products by manually selecting them.
  3. Add options to specific products by setting conditions (based on product collections, tags, titles, etc.).

I believe either the first or third method would suit your needs well. Let me know your thoughts.

Hi again, I tried modifying the CSV and added based on the product tag, however when I uploaded it, the options where there but it ignored the condition of the tag. I could do it manually as you suggest but i have around 4000 products, each with different customisation. Can you be more specific about modifying the CSV as I could be getting it wrong and the could be the reason it isn't recognising the product tags when I upload?
