Product Properties for Custom Shipping

I have set up a custom shipping profile for certain products and want to access that property on the product page. I cannot seem to find the property that holds that information in the documentation. Can anyone direct me to that section in the documentation?

Yep, this is doing my head in.  Such a simple thing, under the shipping section you should be able to just select a shipping profile.  But instead you're forced into going into the shipping settings and adding it manually.  Shopify claim that this decision was made as apparently it's more streamlined to do more work.  I'm not sure what planet the devs are on but it's a very bad decision and it needs to be included in the product page, just a simple drop down.
