All things Shopify and commerce
Hi all,
so i setup www.reevesandkeys.com a couple of weeks ago and been working pretty hard to get a half decent site going, i believe i have everything setup and working however none of the items in the shop are showing up when searching for them on google shopping.
im using "online store" for the main of it it would seem.
i was hoping to get some suggestions on how to get these items to show up on google shopping or if i have missed anything?
if you need to ask questions to help, i'll do my best to answer.
Hey, @reeve1987
Have you set up the Google sales channel yet? Shopify's Google channel automatically syncs your products and relevant information about your Shopify store with the Google Merchant Center. You can then update your Google product listings directly from your Shopify admin. You can view Google's channel eligibility requirements to get it set up.
There is also this resource that pertains specifically to the Google Shopping listings tab in Google.
If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

thank you, i have just been setting up google merchant channel. think thats complete so i will leave it a while and see if i can pull them up on google in a while.
Are you talking about shopping ads or free listings?
i am talking about google searching items and showing up on google shopping results.
So Google Shopping has two areas, Shopping Ads and Free Listings.
Both work very different.
Shopping ads, is advertised and you use Google Ads to manage listings, and GMC for the data.
While Free listings uses data and some other elements that contribute towards this.
As you are asking you don't see results, it is important to know what area you are talking about, to allow for more accurate answers.
i have no idea what your talking about, if i go to here
https://shopping.google.com/?nord=1&pli=1
and type into the search bar one of my item titles, as if i was a customer looking for something i sell, it doesnt find it.
hence me saying, items arent showing on google shopping.
@reeve1987 visually checking ads does not mean this is what everyone sees. That is because Google uses more then just a search term to show results.
For example, your location, historical search, your interest, your habits, demographics etc are all used to show or not show products.
And more importantly when you search your own ads over and over again, and do not click on it, Google thinks you are not interested, and thus will no longer show that product.
However, we need to still get the basic understanding. Are you talking about shopping ads or free listings.
What do you want to rank for?
This basic information is needed to be able to guide you.
You can identify ads vs free listings, by looking at the listing and seeing if shows a tag saying ads
In the image below you can see the difference.
Glad to hear you got it setup! @reeve1987

Hi, did you manage to sort this? Am exactly the same my products from my website don't show on google under free ads. Even if I search word for word one of my products it still won't show up, even through image search. I have tried everything. Any help please adasboutique.co.uk thank you
@Adasboutique12 what does your Google Ads data say, any impressions, clicks?
It says 1 click and 57 products approved, but even when I google search through my images nothing comes up. If I type word for word a item it comes up but with no picture to any of my products 😏
You may need to improve your data feed quality. And change how you advertise, for example standard shopping.
