Products Page - change default sorting method

On the Products page is there anyway to make it so the default list filter is for Newest Product First? Whenever I navigate away from the page and back again it defaults back to Product Title (A-Z).

 

I've tried creating a new view using the + option and this allows me to create and name one, but it doesn't seem to allow me to actually set any filters i.e. when I click on the new view I just created, it just has the same filter parameters as the default settings and I don't know how to change them to list newest first.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. You are correct that the product sort option is static and cannot be saved in a different view at this time. I fully recognize how this can be tedious when moving around the admin and constantly resorting your product list every time you open it again. I have shared this feedback with our developers directly and hopefully we can consider adding this in the future. 

 

In the interim I recommend maybe trying to keep your product list page open in it's own tab and open product details or other admin pages in a new tab.

I was just trying to find an answer to this as well, I haven't found a solution on my own. Main Menu Navigation Tabs defaulting to a-z don't know how to change. Not a problem with collections but for this it seems to be hiding.

Yeh it's super-annoying....it might only take a few seconds to change the filters to what you want but doing this 100's of time a day is starting to make me pull my hair out (and there's not that much left of it tbh!)

This is very frustrating and just wasted a ton o f my time. Please poke the devs for me as well. A saved view should also save the sort order!

Need to sort by newest first.  Should have a way to track date and time when a listing was created on shopify. 

Amazon has this option since years ago.  Not sure why shopify is taking so long to add this  simple feature.
